TO DO IVF
1. IVF involves about 10 days of stimulation before the eggs are retrieved.
These 10 days of moderating can either be done at one of our offices at New York or with your local Physician or fertiltiy specialist.
If you want to be monitored at home, your best bet is to find a local physician who can do a vaginal sonogram and relate to us the same day the number of follicles are developing and the size of each follicle.
In addition you would also need a blood test for Estriadol, LH, and Progesterone. -
The same day you have your sonogram done.
You can be monitored for 1-10 days and then come for aspiration of the follicles.
If you want to be monitored at home - we often recommend that you monitor the first 5 - 6 days at home and see us for the remainder of the stimulation.
2. The retrieval is done after 10 days of stimulation.
After the retrieval, you should rest the remainder of the day.
3. The transfer is done days 3,4, or 5 after the retrieval.
HOW MANY DAYS DO YOU HAVE TO BE IN NEW YORK
1. Your Husband or Partner only has to be here on the day of retrieval to provide the sperm sample.
2. You have to be monitored somewhere. If you can do all 10 days of monitoring at home, and get us the results that is fine. Alternatively, you can do your monitoring with us for 10 days or as many days as you prefer.
3. You must be here for aspiration. If you live close by, you can return 3 to 5 days later for the transfer. It is not necessarily for you to be here after the aspiration until the day of transfer.
HOW EXPENSIVE ARE HOTELS?
1. For patients in Manhattan or QUeens, we can provide you with hotels and numbers to call that have rooms available between $80-$100 a night.
2. For patients in Staten Island, we recommend the Staten Island Hilton which is about 12 minutes from our center.
